This book introduces 60 endemic or very distinctive species in Yunnan Province for readers. Yunnan, though accounting for only 4.1% of the country's land area, is the most species-rich province in China. It is home to about half of the country's flora and fauna. Rich biodiversity has won Yunnan such reputations as "Animal Kingdom", "Plant Kingdom", "World Garden", "Fungus Kingdom", and "Gene Bank of Species".
