On the afternoon of September 14th, the “Conference and Cultural Dialogue of How to Love Like a Mountain - English Translation and Singing of Liu Sanjie's Folk Songs” hosted by the Group was held at the 28th Beijing International Book Fair. JIDI Majia, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the China Writers Association, HUANG Pinliang, Director of the Publishing Management Office of the Publicity Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee, WU Jinguang, former Deputy Director of the International Communication Department of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China, DAI Weina, Researcher of the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, WANG Yujia, Vice President of the Art School of Guangxi and the fifth generation of "Liu Sanjie" actor, HUANG Shaozheng, Professor of Nanning University and the author of the new book, HUANG Xuanzhuang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group, TANG Wenhui, Deputy Party Secretary and Chief Editor of the Group, and others attended the event. PAN Rongsheng, a famous Guangxi musician, Benjamin Lawrence Linde, an American music teacher, and Mark Tredinnick, a famous Australian poet, sent their best wishes for the publication of the new book through videos.

In the karst mountains in southern China, Liu Sanjie, a legendary folk song singer, has been venerated for many generations by the Zhuang people. For them, Liu Sanjie has always been a saint, a symbol of the integrity, sensuality and resilience of their mountain culture. Since the end of the 1950s, based on the sorting and adaptation of the original folk tales, Liu Sanjie has become a well-known cultural landmark and an important intangible cultural heritage in Guangxi after being demonstrated in different forms, such as drama, film, novel, poetry, etc.

HUANG Shaozheng, the author of the English Translation and Singing of Liu Sanjie's Folk Songs (Chinese-English Comparison) (published by the Group), carefully selected from many literary and television works, and translated the scripts of Liu Sanjie opera and other popular Liu Sanjie's ballads into modern English with two aims topmost in his mind: readable and singable for the first time. This book aims to provide a translated text that is both literary and performative, and can be recognized by English readers, so as to provide a reliable singing basis for Liu Sanjie's songs and legends to go out of China and into the world.

Mark Tredinnick spoke highly of HUANG Shaozheng's translation in the video. He said: "HUANG Shaozheng is an excellent translator. He translated the New Covenant and Gibran's poetry into Chinese, and JIDI Majia's poetry and speeches into English. He is one of the most outstanding bilingual translators in China." At the same time, Tredinnick also said that in the new book English Translation and Singing of Liu Sanjie's Folk Songs, HUANG Shaozheng, through his translation and new interpretation, restored the real scene of Liu Sanjie singing songs on the mountains in southern China, providing English readers with a more authentic and free Liu Sanjie.
