On the morning of September 15th, the Launching Ceremony of the Development Project of Chinese Original Picture Book for Children's International Chinese Curriculum was held at the 28th Beijing International Book Fair. The launching ceremony was co-hosted by Guangxi Normal University, the Group and its wholly-owned subsidiary Guilin Magic Elephant Books Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. Nearly 60 representatives from government departments and educational institutions in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries attended the meeting on site or by video.

At the launching ceremony, SONG Yongbo, Deputy Party Secretary of Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, SU Guifa, Vice President of Guangxi Normal University, HUANG Xuanzhuang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group, Benjamas Tanvetyanont, Consul General of Royal Thai Consulate General in Nanning, Đỗ Nam Trung, Consul General of Consulate General of Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Nanning, and Maya Damayati, Acting Consul General of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou delivered speeches. SHAO Yipeng, Director of the Teaching and Resources Department of Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by TANG Wenhui, Chief Editor of the Group.

 SONG Yongbo said that with the continuous development of the Chinese language fever, overseas Chinese learners are becoming younger. How to provide them with high-quality teaching resources of different levels and types, so as to meet the increasingly personalized, differentiated and diversified learning needs, how to provide fresh content and forms for international Chinese teaching innovation through cultural activities with brand influence, and how to help the international promotion of Chinese, have become the important topics for international Chinese education to upgrade, innovate, improve quality and efficiency in the new era. The “Development Project of Chinese Original Picture Book for Children’s International Chinese Curriculum” is a useful attempt to enable international Chinese education with cultural elements. It is hoped that the curriculum project can actively promote the exchange of Chinese and foreign languages and cultures through picture books and help the new development of international Chinese education.

HUANG Xuanzhuang said that the Group fully and thoroughly implemented the strategic deployment of the CPC Central Committee and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee on development and “going global” of China’s culture, actively explored the path of “going global” and international development of China’s culture under the leadership of the Party Committee of Guangxi Normal University, and fulfilled the mission of state-owned cultural enterprises with practical actions. The “Development Project of Chinese Original Picture Book for Children’s International Chinese Curriculum” launched here is a new exploration of “going global” of China’s culture, which will further promote the overseas spread of Chinese culture in the field of children’s education, especially in ASEAN countries. It will also become an important innovation for the Group to promote the mutual development of domestic and international publishing business and improve the effectiveness of “going global” of publishing industry.

Later, SONG Yongbo, Deputy Party Secretary of Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, and SU Guifa, Vice President of Guangxi Normal University, jointly pressed the launching button and announced the official launch of the Development Project of Chinese Original Picture Book for Children’s International Chinese Curriculum.
