On July 29th, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China held the Fifth  Government Publishing Award Commendation Meeting in Beijing. 123 kinds of publications, 50 advanced publishers and 69 outstanding publishing figures who won the Honorary Award, Book Award, Periodical Award, Audio-visual Electronic and Network Publication Award, Printing Reproduction Award and Binding Design Award of the Fifth Government Publishing Award were commended. The Group's Catalogue of the Cover of Old Textbooks in China (all five volumes) won the Printing Reproduction Award, and the Collection of Rare Ming Poems Collected in Japan (Album 1) (41 books) and the Compilation of Chinese Translation of Manchu Archives in Xinjiang in Qing Dynasty (1-10 books) won the Book Nomination Award of the Fifth Government Publishing Award. Up to now, there are 7 kinds of books that have won the Book Award of Government Publishing Award, and the cumulative number of awards in previous years ranks tenth among national publishing houses.

The Catalogue of the Cover of Old Textbooks in China (all five volumes), which won the Printing Reproduction Award, achieved the "first prize” among Guangxi printing enterprises in the Printing Reproduction Award. Planned and published by the Literature and Art Branch of the Group and printed by Guangxi Guangda Printing Co., Ltd., it is the first catalogue of the cover of old textbooks in China, showing the educational features in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and is an important reference for the study on the educational history at that time, especially on textbook. The picture printing color of this book shows the original exquisite patterns of the old teaching materials. With wires locked and bound on the back and letter box exquisitely made, it is designed to an unity of fine content + exquisite printing with strong visual sense; the Collection of Rare Ming Poems Collected in Japan (Album I) (41 books), which won the Book Nomination Award, was planned and published by Beijing Literature Publishing Center of the Group, and was the "National Special Fund Supported Project for the Arrangement and Publication of Ancient Books" in 2019. The book contains eighteen collections of the Ming Dynasty poems collected in Japanese Cabinet Library and Jingjiatang Library, which is helpful to the further study of literature and culture in the Ming Dynasty, and also provides a solid foundation for the further development of Chinese classics research to a deeper level; the Compilation of Chinese Translation of Manchu Archives in Xinjiang in Qing Dynasty (book 1-10), which also won the Book Nomination Award, was planned and published by the Literature Branch of the Group. The collection scope of this book spans from the eighth year of the Yongzheng Dynasty (1730) to the twentieth year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1755), and covers sixteen aspects, such as official, military affairs, civil affairs and justice, in Xinjiang in the Qing Dynasty, which provides precious archival historical materials for the study of Xinjiang history in the Qing Dynasty.

In recent years, following the strategic policy of "focusing on the main business, deepening education, upgrading academics and extending development", guided by value publishing and user needs, with the published content of high-quality products as the core, through technology empowerment, extended research and development, the Group has promoted innovation and excellence in publishing, further improved and upgraded the quality assurance system and guarantee ability covering the whole process of topic selection planning, editing and proofreading, binding design, printing, marketing and distribution, explored the integration and development path of "topic selection-product chain-format system", comprehensively improved the integration ability of professional publishing resource, product processing ability, marketing communication ability, integration publishing ability and international publishing ability, and promoted the high-quality development of publishing houses; on the other hand, the Group has increased investment in technological transformation and technology research and development, promoted the upgrading of book binding and printing, and made great efforts to promote the innovation of publishing formats, and achieved remarkable results.

According to the TOP10 list of books winning previous "China Publishing Government Awards" compiled and published by China Publishing & Media Journal, since the first China Publishing Government Award began in 2007, the Group's History of Chinese Thought and Academic (6 volumes, 9 books) and Fujian-Taiwan Genealogy (50 books) won the Book Nomination Award of the Second Government Publishing Award respectively, the General Record of Chinese Paintings (10 books) and the Records of Chinese Rare Books Collected in Harvard Yanjing Library of Harvard University won the Book Award of the Third Government Publishing Award, and the Interpretation of Chinese Bai Ethnic Group Literature won the Book Nomination Award. In addition to the Collection of Rare Ming Poems Collected in Japan (Album I) (41 books) and the Compilation of Chinese Translation of Manchu Archives in Xinjiang in Qing Dynasty (book 1-10), which won the Book Nomination Award this time, seven kinds of books of the Group have won the Book Award and Nomination Award of Government Publishing Award, and the Group ranks tenth among the national publishing houses.
