On the afternoon of August 6th, "Spring of Poets: Contemporary Chinese-French Poetry Readings" with the theme of "Ephemeral" was held in Guilin. Sylvain Fourriere, French Consul General in Guangzhou, Joachim Boittout, Cultural Consul of Consulate General of France in Guangzhou, HUANG Xuanzhuang, Chairman of the Group and ZHANG Junxian, Chairman Assistant attended the event. JIN Longge, French translator and professor of Guilin Tourism University, LIU Chun, poet and planner with nearly 20 Chinese and French poets and musicians attended the event. The poetry-reading event was jointly sponsored by the Consulate General of France in Guangzhou and the Group, and co-organized by the French Teaching and Research Office of the School of Foreign Languages of Guilin Tourism University and Duxiu Bookstore.
The poetry-reading event was shown by two parts. Eight French-speaking poets, including Amadou Lamine Sall, Emna Louzyr, Jean Portante, Carl Norac, Danielle Risse, Moëz Majed, Jean-Pierre Simeon and Pierre-Alain Tâche, gave video readings, showing the unique charm of French poets and French poems. Eight Chinese poets, including HU Zibo, HUANG Fang, YU Che, XIAO Pingzi, LIU Chun, MO Yaping, DENG Xueyun and CHEN Guigen, read their poems on site, vividly showing the poets' unique artistic thinking and expression. Joachim Boittout and compere LIN Hongye also read poems in both Chinese and French, giving the audience the beauty of Chinese and French languages/poems on site.
