On May 21st, 2022, sponsored by the Center for Chinese Ancient Classics and Achieves of Peking University and the Group, and co-organized by the School of Humanities of Wenzhou University, the Seminar on Collection, Research, Arrangement and Publication of Chinese Classics and Achieves in East Asia of the Second International Academic Forum on "Collection, Research and Arrangement and Publication of Ancient Classics and Achieves" was held online and offline, with sub-venues in Beijing, Guilin and Wenzhou. The forum gathered the workers engaged in the three important links of collection and protection, collation and research, publication and utilization of ancient classics and achieves on line to jointly promote the collection, research, collation and publication of ancient classics and achieves. TANG Wenhui, Editor-in-Chief of the Press, presided over the opening ceremony of the forum.

Professor HUANG Xuanzhuang, Chairman of the Group, said in his speech that, as a member of the Ancient Classics Publishing Committee of the Publishers’ Association of China, Guangxi Normal University Press has devoted itself to the collation of ancient classics and the publication of rare literature in the past 30 years. The Group has published more than 600 kinds of ancient classics and rare literature books (in more than 400,000 volumes) with important social influence, and formed a relatively complete publishing system covering publication of ordinary ancient books and ancient classics, reading of mass cultural classics, collation and publication of ancient ethnic minority literature, archival materials of rare ancient classics and literature and other categories. The Group always insists on putting social benefits first, with the publishing concept of "opening people's wisdom and inheriting civilization", the mission of "linking people and books" and the value pursuit of producing good books. It is willing to work with experts to make joint effort for the collection, research, collation and publication of ancient classics and achieves at home and abroad, and jointly write a new chapter in the development of ancient classics and achieves work in China in the new era.

TANG believes that during the development of the Chinese culture from the Axial Era to the present, the Chinese character symbol system functions as a core. East Asia shares this great cultural tradition, and Chinese classics and achieves are the sound carrier of culture. This forum is themed by Chinese classics and achieves in East Asia, reflecting the background of the revival and development of the Chinese culture as well as further globalization. The scholars from China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam discussed on line, focusing on a wide range of works: traditional ancient books, reformed books, Tang-sourced books and writing conversation books. It is a high-level academic conference, involving in some specific topics including the study theories and methods, collection, communication study, influence study and overall study of Chinese books in East Asia. It boosted a wide perspective, many new ideas and rich outcomes, which will definitely have a positive impact on the study of Chinese books in East Asia.
