Established on March 30th, 2018, GXNU Press Cultural Development Foundation was a non-profit charitable organization approved by the Civil Affairs Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is the first local non-public-raising foundation donated by a single publishing house in the book publishing industry in China.Supported by the quality resources in culture and publishing provided by GXNU Press Group, the Foundation operates in a professional mode of branding to meet the demands of the industry and society. With a bulk of social resources and public welfare forces integrated, it aims at funding fine publishing projects and creation plans, supporting the cultivation of talent in publishing media, cultural education, and literary and artistic creation, and investing the reading, cultural construction, and education for the whole population. The Foundation strives to become an innovative, professional public-welfare cultural service platform with strong social credibility in the book publishing industry.The Foundation acts by the constitution, laws, regulations, and policies, practices the core socialist values, and follows social morality. Supported by the quality resources in culture and publishing provided by GXNU Press Group, the Foundation operates to meet the demands of the industry and society. It is dedicated to promoting "national reading", carrying out public welfare assistance, funding quality publishing projects, supporting talents in publishing, creation and media, serving society, and enhancing the exchange and development of regional cultural/educational undertakings.

It takes tens of years to grow a tree up and a hundred years to bring up a generation of able men. The Foundation inherits and promotes the tradition of targeted poverty alleviation in the education field held by GXNU Group in the past 27 years and assumes its social responsibilities. To promote the development of education in ethnic minority areas, GXNU Press Group has funded more than 400 "womens classes" for ethnic minority girls who may drop out of school, enabling them to be talent, since 1995. These children are from poverty-stricken areas such as Longsheng, Rongshui, Xincheng, Fuchuan and Ziyuan in Guangxi.From September 2016, the children from households benefiting from precision poverty alleviation in ethnic minority areas have been selected to join in "Duxiu Class" and helped complete nine-year compulsory education. Such action deepens targeted poverty alleviation in the education field. At present, the Foundation promotes targeted poverty alleviation in multiple means of one-to-one help, funding, books donation, education support and help with care.

"Encouraging Library" project, guided by the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Public Libraries and the Plan of the National Public Library Development in the 13th Five-Year Plan Period, focuses on the development and construction of social public cultural services from the perspective of industry, and integrates the resources from all sides in the way of project branding and specialization. Since 2018, 10 county-level libraries have been funded every year to help improve the efficiency of county-level public libraries in border areas and ethnic minority areas, steadily promote the construction of grassroots reading network system for all people, and meet the cultural needs of the people.

Under the strategic guiding ideology of rural revitalization and coordinated development of urban and rural regionalization, the Foundation jointly with Guilin Branch of Guilin Bank initiated "Rural Bookstore" project by using the resource advantages of both sides, aiming at implementing the rural cultural revitalization strategy. The project, takes books as the carrier and drives the endogenous motivation of stimulating rural revitalization by rural cultural revitalization. Such action gives a series of results: constantly meeting the growing cultural needs of the broad masses, enriching their cultural life, improving the quality of residents, expanding the positions and channels of rural spiritual civilization construction, promoting the transfer of public cultural development services to urbanization and its extension to rural areas. It plays an important role in implementing the rural revitalization strategy, further promoting the construction of rural civilization and practicing the socialist core values. The Foundation will gather more social forces and strive to build "Rural Bookstore" project into a "cultural granary" for rural revitalization.

Since its establishment 30 years ago, Guangxi Normal University Press has always adhered to the mission of "enlightening the people and inheriting the Chinese nation’s civilization". It puts social benefits first, actively assumes the responsibilities of promoting the development of local culture and education, actively participates in social welfare undertakings, and supports the cultural construction of ethnic minority groups and border areas through fund and material donations. In the past ten years, Guangxi Normal University Press Group has donated millions of books worth of nearly CNY 20 million to villages, schools, military camps and communities in Guangxi, Guizhou, Tibet, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Hunan. The Foundation integrates donation resources from all sides, carries out the action plans to support cultural construction in ethnic minority and border areas, and makes due contributions to continuously meeting the peoples growing needs for a better life.

On the evening of June 26th, 2022, at the graduation of the students of "Duxiu Class" at Jinxiu Middle School for Nationalities, HUANG Xuanzhuang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group, accompanying 10 employees from the trade unions and the cultural development foundation, attended the graduation ceremony of "Duxiu Class" at the school. LIU Peng, member of the Standing Committee of Jinxiu County Committee and deputy county executive, WANG Wannian, director of the education and sports bureau of the county, leaders, teachers and students of the school attended the "Duxiu Class" event. The graduation ceremony was presided over by CHEN Qingquan, principal of Jinxiu Middle School for Nationalities.Before the ceremony, the audience watched the graduation season video "Walking Far Together" produced by the Cultural Development Foundation, and reviewed the process of donation by the Group to the "Duxiu Class" in the past three years, recalling the past and looking forward to the future together.In his speech, Mr. HUANG sent graduation blessings to all the students of the school. He pointed out that the Group, as a university press and a state-owned cultural corporation, has always actively fulfilled its social responsibilities and devoted itself to public welfare undertakings. Since 1995, when the first "girls class" was funded in Sishui Township, Longsheng County, the Group never stopped its public welfare activity, by which, nearly 500 students from poor ethnic minority families have completed the nine-year compulsory education in the form of "womens classes" and "Duxiu Class", and 70% of them have been promoted to higher-level schools for study. They have become useful professionals to the society after graduation. Mr. HUANG also sent a message to the students, encouraging them to vigorously carry forward the "the Duxiu spirit", be ambitious and mindful of the "Top Priorities of the Country"; to establish the concept of lifelong learning; to pay high regard to self-cultivation and moral integrity, consciously strive to become new persons of the times who can assume responsibilities of national rejuvenation."Duxiu Class”is just the ninth class funded by the group. Next, the Cultural Development Foundation of the group will carry out the site selection and preparation for a new "Duxiu Class".
